The Land of the Wizard's Portal - 1998

This tale is one of my earliest works. It was written as a school assignment that entailed creating an original adventure for the character Odysseus from Homer's Odyssey. Some readers will note that this was heavily influenced by the video game WarCraft II, with some elements from Diablo, and the Star Wars series. For that reason I hardly consider it an original story.

This tale does depict a certain fascination with death and cruelty. My main focus when I wrote the tale was to create a story where a large group of soldiers were presented with a situation where only one survived to tell the tale. This is apparent in that throughout the story a census is kept as to how many soldiers were alive at any given time. Readers will also note the cruel manner in which Odysseus' men were killed.

This story treats Odysseus as cruel. He kills one of his own men, and he is more intrested in conquering and slaughtering than exploration.
